Create a background rather than a finished layout
Digital paper works behind journal pieces, card fronts and collage elements. A useful brief describes the material, colour and amount of visual texture. Avoid a large central subject when the page needs to remain usable under text. The preset asks for a full-frame background without a photographed sheet, folds or product mockup. You can also upload a scan or texture that you already have permission to use and prepare it locally.
Choose the canvas from the intended page
The default square is 3600 × 3600 pixels: twelve inches per side at a planned 300 PPI. You can choose another width and height within the displayed bounds. This tool fills the target canvas by cropping the source to its aspect ratio. It does not stretch the source to force a match. Important texture near an edge may be cropped, so compare the preview after changing proportions and use a source that has enough spare area.
A sheet is not automatically a seamless tile
The file is one background sheet. The border diagnostic compares opposite outside pixels, and the 3 × 3 preview makes a repeated edge easy to inspect. A low difference can be helpful, but a texture may still have a visible repeated mark or band. Do not label a generated texture seamless solely because the prompt included that word. Use the floral pattern tool when you want to assemble a controlled repeat from individual motifs.
Preserve useful detail without false resolution claims
The download uses the exact canvas dimensions shown and includes 300 PPI metadata. If a 1024-pixel source is enlarged to 3600 pixels, the canvas is larger but the source has not gained authentic texture detail. Inspect a crop at the intended print size. Subtle paper grain often looks different after printing, and pale colours can become difficult to see. This panel does not create an ICC profile or simulate a specific paper stock or printer.
Build and name a small coordinated set
Keep the same palette while changing one texture description at a time. Save each sheet separately and inspect it behind the actual lettering or collage elements. This workflow exports one PNG per action, not a promised bundle, layered document or automatically paginated PDF. Keep the original source so another page size can be prepared later. If a design will be sold, check that every source element is yours or licensed for the intended use.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the default file really contain 3600 × 3600 pixels?
- Yes. The browser renders that canvas and the PNG export retains those pixels. This is independent of how detailed the uploaded source was.
- Is the texture seamless?
- It is not guaranteed. Inspect the opposite-border measurement and the 3 × 3 preview; a standalone sheet and a repeat tile serve different needs.
- Do I get a PDF pack?
- No. Each download is one PNG background at the chosen size.
