Separate the flower from its repeat
The AI brief asks for one floral motif. The browser panel then places copies into an actual repeat layout. This keeps the spacing and tile dimensions under your control. Describe the flower species, leaf shape and painting style instead of asking for many unrelated elements at once. If you already have a flower illustration, you can go straight to the local panel and skip generation. Your source file remains a separate asset that can be reused in another arrangement.
Use density to control the visual scale
Density sets the number of motif positions along each side of the tile. Four positions create sixteen motif placements. Each motif keeps its aspect ratio and has space around it; the original pixels are not recoloured by choosing a background. A sparse arrangement suits large wrapping-paper areas, while a denser arrangement can work on smaller digital backgrounds. Changing density also changes how large each source motif appears, so inspect the details again after every change.
Inspect the repeat across neighbouring tiles
The 3 × 3 preview repeats the same exported tile in both directions. Look for obvious bands, cramped clusters and unintended empty corridors. The border diagnostic compares pixels on opposite outside edges on a zero-to-255 scale. Zero means those sampled borders match; it does not judge the artistic rhythm inside the tile. This layout leaves a controlled margin around motif placements, rather than claiming that any arbitrary AI image is already seamless.
Choose a clean source and background
A transparent floral motif usually gives the most flexible result. An opaque source includes its original rectangle in every placement; use that deliberately or prepare the background before tiling. The exported background is the selected solid colour. The checkerboard used for transparency in other tools is never added to this tile. The palette in the AI brief guides the model, while the background field in this panel controls the actual pixels of the repeat.
Export the tile, then test the intended surface
The download contains one tile, not the nine-tile inspection sheet. It is a PNG at the requested pixel size with 300 PPI metadata. The preview is smaller for responsive interaction, but export uses the same placement geometry at full size. Repeat the tile in your final design software and check a sample at the intended physical scale. This tool does not supply fabric, a printed product, colour-profile conversion or a guarantee that a particular print service accepts your file.
Frequently asked questions
- Is every AI flower image automatically seamless?
- No. The browser assembles the repeat from the uploaded motif. Inspect the 3 × 3 preview and edge difference before using it.
- Do I download all nine preview tiles?
- No. You download the single repeat tile. The nine-tile view is an inspection aid.
- Can I use a transparent PNG motif?
- Yes. Existing alpha is preserved when the motif is drawn over your selected solid background. PNG and JPEG uploads are limited to 8 MB and 4096 pixels per side.
