Measure the specific blank
Tumbler capacity is not a reliable template size. Two products sold with the same ounce label can have different circumferences and usable heights. Enter the body width and height from your manufacturer template or your own measurement. This tool prepares a rectangular wrap for a straight-sided cylinder. It does not calculate tapered or conical wraps. Keep handles, curves and areas that cannot be printed outside the intended artwork region.
Keep body, bleed and overlap separate
Body width is the artwork width around one complete circumference. Bleed extends beyond the cut boundary. Seam overlap adds a narrow extra section at the right edge by copying the beginning of the body image. These are different measurements, and the output summary shows their pixel contributions. At 300 PPI, millimetres are converted to rounded integer pixels. The PNG dimensions are built from those components so the preview and downloaded file use the same geometry.
Design around the join
Place a face, name or other important subject away from the seam. The wrap preset asks for a flat illustration rather than a picture of a cup. After uploading the result, inspect the seam preview: it places the end and beginning of the body next to each other. The copied overlap helps align the material but cannot make unrelated colours or objects magically match at the join. Choose an appropriate composition or edit the source when a visible seam remains.
Know what the export contains
The output is one PNG including bleed and overlap. The cut-boundary guide appears only in the preview and is not burned into the artwork. Outer bleed is extended from the prepared body; the right overlap copies the start of that body. The file receives real 300 PPI metadata, but the source still determines detail quality. Check the reported pixel dimensions and print at the intended physical scale without an automatic fit-to-page setting changing the size.
Test fit before production
Use a paper test around the actual blank and compare the usable height, join and any unprintable areas. That practical check is especially useful after changing the supplier or blank model. This tool does not supply a universal twenty-ounce template, a tapered cutting pattern, a physical tumbler or production settings for a press. Keep the measured values with the source artwork so a later adjustment can be exported without guessing which size was used.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there one size for every twenty-ounce tumbler?
- No. Enter the measurements for the particular straight-sided blank you use.
- Is seam overlap only a label?
- No. Its pixels are added to the canvas and copy the beginning of the body artwork. Bleed is added separately.
- Does this support tapered tumblers?
- No. The rectangular workflow is for straight-sided blanks; a tapered surface needs its own measured cutting template.
